Smart city - man or technology? Or perhaps technology supporting a person? The understanding of the concept of smart city is evolving. Increasingly, a smart city is seen through the prism of people. It is supposed to provide, first and foremost, a sense of security and a good quality of life for its diverse user groups. Anna Brdulak, PhD, together with Marta Wójcicka and Prof. Jan Kazmierczak, discussed this in a debate moderated by editor Sławomir Szymański of Gazeta Wyborcza.

The first of a series of six debates on the city entitled: "Smart doesn't always mean better. How to build smart cities" was organized by Wrocław University of Science and Technology in cooperation with Gazeta Wyborcza Wrocław. The event took place on February 29, 2024.

Subsequent debates:
2) March 21, "Transportation. Collective or electromobility?"
3) April 18, "Health. What cities are sick with"
